I’m visiting schools again to promote my new picture book. So far, I’ve visited three schools and the response has been overwhelming. I was also asked to conduct workshops with Years 3 and 5, in the lead up to NAPLAN next week.
It was wonderful to hear that Marlo Can Fly was still a favourite amongst the children. At one school, both my picture books No Matter Who We’re With and Marlo Can Fly were both checked out – yay! Also, at another school, a teacher asked her students to name their favourite picture book. I was chuffed to hear that No Matter Who We’re With was a favourite with one of her students. I actually blushed! The student said that it struck a chord with him.
It just goes to show how books can have a real impact on someone’s life. They can touch or move a person in such a way that nothing else can. We as authors have the power to create a wonderful experience for our readers. By expressing ideas and emotions in simple ways, we can make a book memorable. It’s great to know I’m creating fans with my books.
Thank you to all the wonderful children and teachers for their warm welcome. And I look forward to returning again in sharing many more stories with you all.
